Police arrested 51-year-old Lee Kaplan at his home in Feasterville, about 20 miles northeast of Philadelphia, June 16 after receiving a complaint about the health and safety of numerous children in the home.
Kaplan faces charges of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of a minor and unlawful endangerment, according to WPMT.
Daniel Stoltzfus is charged with conspiracy of statutory assault and endangering the welfare of a child, both felonies.
They found girls between the ages of 6 months and 18 years living in the house in Bucks County. They add that she was allegedly sexually assaulted by Kaplan for several years.
All the children were placed in protective custody, Krimmel said. That girl, WPVI says, was given to Kaplan by her parents because Kaplan helped the couple out of some kind of financial hardship.
“The resident had told other neighbors that no children live there”, NBC10.com reported.
One of the children that Kaplan allegedly fathered is 3-years-old and the other is an infant, according to police. The parents, who live in Lancaster County and are believed to be Amish, are in custody.
Mr Heckler said the Stoltzfuses told police they were going to lose their farm until Kaplan “comes along and gives them money somehow”.
Police in Pennsylvania are trying to identify the other girls.
Police were unable to find birth certificates for any of the children, he said. The 18-year-old also told police that she was the mother of two of the children and said she was not married to Kaplan, according to the affidavit.
The girls are believed to be 18, 17, 15, 13, 10, 8, 7, 5, 3, 3, and 6-months-old.
Kaplan remains in jail on one-million dollar bail. Betz said she hopes the girls get the therapy they need.
Savilla Stoltzfus stated that she knew that her daughter was having sexual intercourse with Kaplan and did not remove her from the home.
