1 dead, 2 injured in shooting at Wyoming senior housing facility

One of the shooter’s three victims is also dead, with the medical status of the other two victims unknown at this time. the shooting happened a little after 11 a.m.at the Heritage Court Apartment Complex. Reuters could not independently verify the report. It’s not known yet whether the three unidentified shooting victims lived at the complex.

Cheyenne Police now say the shooter in a Wednesday morning shooting as well as one of his victims is dead. He killed himself as officers approached him in a neighborhood about a mile away, Long said.

Officers did not fire any shots but say Rosenberg was in possession of a handgun and a rifle.

Attempts to reach Rosenberg’s family weren’t successful.

Long identified the deceased gunman as Larry Rosenberg, 77, a resident of the apartment complex. Eastman said she left the letter in her apartment and didn’t read it until later – after she returned to find the building a crime scene.

Police comforted a distraught woman at the scene.

Vince DeGrazio, who lives across the street from the apartments, said he commonly hears sirens and did not pay much attention when he first heard them.

A Wyoming nursing home resident fatally shot one person and wounded two more Wednesday before killing himself as cops were closing in. The lock-down was lifted at about 12:30 p.m.

Heritage Court Apartments has 32 affordable housing units for households with at least one member age 62 or older, according to its website. City police handled six homicide cases previous year, the department’s annual report said.
