1 dead, 7 hurt in shooting, stabbing at Denver expo

Shooting and a stabbing broke out at a motorcycle show in Denver on Saturday afternoon, leaving one person dead and seven people injured, authorities said.

Lopez could not confirm that biker gangs were involved, saying an investigation into the incident was ongoing.

The incident occurred at the first day of the Colorado Motorcycle Expo.

Other events will go on as scheduled in other parts of the coliseum. The Colorado Motorcycle Expo is being held this weekend at the complex. There were approximately 10,000 people at the event, which did not have security screening, according to the Denver Post.

“We are interviewing several witnesses and we do have one person of interest who we will be interviewing also”, he said.

No-one was in custody, she said.

According to a tweet from Denver Health, nine people were being transported to area hospitals after the incident.

There was a large police presence at Denver Health, the hospital where victims were being treated.

The complex is near the Denver Coliseum.
