That’s because the winning Mega Millions ticket worth an estimated at $540 million was sold at the Speedway gas station at State Road 1 just off I70 Friday night. Each of those tickets are worth $1 million.

The highest Mega Millions jackpot sits at a $656 million win from March 30, 2012, when three tickets shared the pot, lottery officials said. One willing ticket was sold in Indiana.

The victor has 180 days from the drawing to come forward. The drawing is the seventh biggest prize in US lottery history, beating the Powerball prize of $448.4 million in August 2013.

A Massachusetts State Lottery official informed the store Saturday morning, said Keith Florentino, a customer service representative for the Cumberland Farms store at 433 South Main St.in Sharon.

The lone ticket captured the most winnings ever on a single ticket – with a cash prize of $381 million – after matching all six numbers that were drawn: 8, 19, 20, 55 and 73, with a Mega Ball 5.

Tickets are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
