Francine Salazar has told the local Merced Sun-Star newspaper that she accompanied her son Tyler Turner to the Lodi Parachute Center on Saturday as he and several of his friends celebrated a birthday.

Deputies received a 911 call around 10 a.m. from someone reporting a skydiver hit the ground without an open parachute, according to the statement.

The men, who are in their 20s, died Saturday in San Joaquin County.

Bill Dause, owner of the Lodi Parachute Center, told reporters that the other victim was an instructor with an experience of 700 jumps.

Riley said they are working to identify the men, who were jumping out of the Parachute Center skydiving school. Reports said his family were there watching when he hit the ground. The Federal Aviation Administration will determine the exact cause of the accident.

But Dause said he believed the group saw the entire video, as it plays repeatedly at the centre.

“. I’m pretty sure they saw it”, he said.

“The only thing it looks like is something may have gone out of sequence”, Dause told Sacramento television station KCRA. “Conditions had nothing to do with it”, he said. In February a parachute malfunction killed a solo skydiver, and in May, a plane with 17 divers on board crash-landed upside-down, but no one was seriously injured.
