Spanish and Moroccan authorities, in a coordinated operation, have nabbed 10 persons with suspected links to the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Jorge Fernandez Diaz, the Spanish Interior Minister, said this network was especially focused on recruiting women.
Spanish police arrest an 18-year-old Moroccan woman suspected of recruiting other women via the Internet to the extremist group Islamic State, in Gandia on September 5, 2015.
“The operation is a firm blow to the networks that dedicate themselves to attracting, radicalization and recruiting people to form part of Daesh”, the minister told the media.
Suspects were detained in the Spanish cities of Toledo and Badalona, the small coastal town of Xeraco in Spain’s Valencia region and the Moroccan city of Casablanca, Spain’s interior ministry said.
In Morocco, the six were arrested around Casablanca.
According to the statement, the anti-terrorist operation is still underway.
Fernandes Diaz said Spain remained on high alert for possible terror attacks, with all services “active to protect places that are considered to be potential objects of attacks”.
In a major crackdown on extremists, including those operating online, Spanish police have arrested scores of suspected recruiters in recent years.
