One of the leading technology front-runners announced a smarter and better version of Microsoft Surface Pro 3 on October 6.

With the Big-M today unveiling the new Microsoft Surface 4 tablet and the accompanying, updated Microsoft Pen, the company couldn’t resist the opportunity to highlight its illustrious rival’s blatant copying.
“Microsoft wanted to fit a larger screen into a device the size of the Surface Pro 3, making it akin to the Dell XPS 13’s lovely “edgeless” display”.
The upcoming Surface Pro 4 is rumored to come in two different sizes: 12-inch and 14-inch.
The Surface Pro 3 can be configured in Intel Core i3, i5 and i7.
Several years, several iterations and several similar competitors later, it seems Microsoft may have been onto something with Surface after all.
Compared to the Surface Pro 3, this design should allow the newer machine to run cooler and avoid creating any uncomfortable hot spots.
Microsoft gave people interested in this unique design even more compelling reasons to consider one at its Tuesday launch event. If rumors are to be believed, then the Surface Pro 4 will get a better and faster Skylake processor, which will improve efficiency for owners.
Let’s hope the new liquid cooling system in the Surface Pro 4 is more effective than the system used in the Surface Pro 3. The tip that comes installed on the new Surface Pen (HB) handles writing and sketching. However, the latter sits alongside an Intel RealSense Camera R200 for capturing objects and people in 3D. In addition, however, there’s a detachable metal keyboard that houses an additional battery and optional nVidia GPU. There’s also an Onyx, which looks identical to the black in the images, but that also comes with a fingerprint scanner and has a higher $160 price tag. Microsoft claims it’s going directly after the MacBook Pro’s bread-and-butter audience – creative types, graphics professionals and other highly-demanding users. This means that with the iPad, more can be seen at the same time.
Speaking of the keyboard, that has aluminum keys and, like on the Surface Pro 4, uses a dog-leg magnetic hinge to tilt at a more comfortable angle as well as reduce twisting if you have the Spectre x2 on your lap.

All told, it was an impressive display, and one that will likely be looked back on as having started a few important reimagining of what personal computers can and should be.
