Crews are dealing with heavy to medium brush, with winds moving south. About 130 fire personnel were on scene, and more units were responding.

Aircraft equipped to conduct water drops at night were yet to be requested, Seastrand said late Friday afternoon, though that also could change at any time.
Another fire erupted Friday afternoon in Simi Valley, just northwest of Los Angeles.
Authorities say the fire erupted shortly after 1 p.m. Friday in the Angeles National Forest north of Glendora.

Garcia said that canyon wind was one of several factors in the fast movement of the fire. No injuries were reported, and no evacuations have been ordered.
Two of them were treated for heat exhaustion, Seastrand said.
Approximately 40 people were evacuated at Crystal Lake Recreational Area campground about 26 miles north of Azusa.
One helicopter involved in the firefighter made an emergency landing alongside a reservoir, possibly after clipping some power lines in the area. The aerial attack was critical to the firefighting effort, thanks to rugged terrain that limited the access of ground crews. The general location of the fire is near Highway 39, between East Fork Road and Highway 2.

Smith said the fire was about 5 miles south of the campground and that the campers were not in any immediate danger. People with respiratory or heart disease, children and older adults were being advised to remain indoors.
