10th Muharram: President Mamnoon urges nation to end internal rifts

The Prime Minister said Hazrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him) rejected all kinds of tyranny and coercion and inspite of surrendering before the oppressive ruler, he upheld the principles of truth.

Khan said that the Karbala incident shows that ideologies could not be destroyed with unjust power.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in his message said that the Karbala incident gives us the courage to resist the forces of oppression and act forthrightly in favour of truth.

“The lesson (taught by) Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions …is the guiding light for the entire Muslim ummah”, she added.

President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the nation to end its internal rifts and sectarianism and form a united platform to help Pakistan, Islamic Ummah and the world at large to address its lingering problems.

The President said the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hossain (RA) and his companions in Karbala for upholding the ideals of Islam, the religion of peace and tranquility, is remaining as a glorious event in the history. The procession will pass through Massachusetts Jinnah Road, Empress Market, Regal Chowk and Tibet Centre and culminate at the Hussainia Iranian Imam Bargah, Kharadar.

Muslims, majorly who belong to the Shia sect commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his 72 followers on first 10 days of the month of Muharram by observing commemoration of the martyrdom, taking out procession, known as Azadari which was held today in Udaipur by Dawoodi Bohra (Bohra Youth) to mark the 10th day also called Ashura.
