12-Month Apple Music Trial Being Offered By Telstra For Free

Telstra is giving Australian music fans a great experience by offering eligible postpaid mobile customers a 12 month Apple Music membership.

After the 12 month period is over, customers will be billed the AUD11.

Vodafone last year introduced a similar offer, providing new subscribers with up to 12 free months of rival music streaming service Spotify. The Telstra offer will cancel any existing free trial that they’ve set up through Apple, meaning Telstra is not likely to see a real uptick in adoption until a month or two from now.

However, there is one downside: While Apple Music will be free for a year, it will still count against your Telstra data allowance, so you’ll have to be careful about how much you listen to on the go.

The T’s and C’s of the Telstra bundle state: ‘Any existing Apple Music trial offer will be cancelled when you take up the Telstra Offer.’.

Once the customers’ Go Mobile plan expires, they will still be able to continue using the Apple Music service; with the monthly cost of the service to be billed to their Telstra account.

According to the ever-excellent Business Insider, the Cupertino giant is in talks to launch its own Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in the US and EU. Which could give Apple an even bigger advantage in the streaming content space.
