In the upcoming update, the apps will load seven times faster than what they are now loading at.

Some of the new capabilities that will be introduced with iOS 10 include a raise-to-wake feature that will let users automatically wake their iPhones just by picking them up, as well as artificially intelligent sorting and categorizing of photos, a more proactive Maps feature, subscriptions for Apple News and voice mail transcriptions for missed calls so users don’t have to listen to voice mails.

So Apple’s Maps still trails behind Google Maps, but the distance between the two has lessened dramatically.
Apple has also added a meditation app called Breathe, as well as some new watch-faces.
Developers are gaining new tools like ReplayKit to record and live broadcast from their apps, PhotoKit to allow third-party apps to access photos and videos from iCloud Photo Library, HomeKit to create Apple TV HomeKit apps, and a much-desired feature to create games that require a controller. Hand written messages and drawings will now be possible in the new messaging app.
The latest OS version will focus on continuity features, with closer integration with your other Apple devices. It has been named as Sierra.
There’s also a ton of smaller things worth mentioning, including a Picture-in-picture mode for covert video watching, tabbed window support for all applications and a universal clipboard that syncs across all devices.

It was also revealed the company is renaming its desktop software macOS, as well as adding Siri to its desktop computer software for the first time.
As a startup, Siri worked with a variety of popular apps, but Apple cut off third-party access to the service shortly after the acquisition. In the macOS, Siri will be accessible in the dock as well as from the top-right corner near Spotlight, and will be able to search for files, handle follow-up queries, search the web, send messages and also give updates-exactly the way it works on an iPhone or iPad.

The new Auto Unlock feature means if you are wearing your authenticated Apple Watch, your computer automatically unlocks when you walk towards it. It’s no retina scan, but it’s pretty cool.
