12-year-old ukulele player wows judges, gets golden buzzer
It usually happens each week and it definitely happened last night on AGT 2016, as Grace VanderWaal finished out the night and shocked everyone with her performance of an original song! There’s also something called a “golden buzzer” which has me terribly confused, but apparently it means she’s going on to the semifinal round.

With the charisma of someone well older than her 12 years, the contestant graciously thanked judge Howie Mandel when he told her, “You’re a handsome young lady, you know that?”
Soon, the whole world might know her name. She captivated the judges and the audience with her original song on the ukulele, I Don’t Know My Name, which she sang as her audition.
With her unique voice, slightly reminiscent of Sia and Florence Welch, she could honestly be far more..
“This is show about surprises”.

At one point, judge Simon Cowell asked if she really believed she could win. She seems like such a sweetheart and I love her! It even forced kind words out of Cowell’s mouth, as he declared this girl, Grace VanderWaal, to be “the next Taylor Swift”.
