If you will be away from your home in Boundary County for any reason on the day of the vote, or if you just can’t make it to the polls that day, you can still exercise your voting privilege, right, and responsibility.

A “provisional ballot” is used to record a vote when there are questions about a voter’s eligibility.
Last month, a state bill was proposed to stiffen the penalties for “ballot harvesting”-collecting and destroying mail-in ballots for the opposing candidate”.
And you won’t want to miss the upcoming May 17 election.
The application is on the secretary of state’s website under the Elections tab.
For ballots to be counted in the final tally, they must be postmarked by April 5, 2016 and received by a municipal clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8th.
The form to request an absentee ballot can be obtained online by clicking here. These figures include 136,947 ballots issued in-person in clerks’ offices. Of the 94,859 absentee ballots, 27,085 were in-person absentee. Jenkins says they have to take 25 Republican and Democrat ballots each election.

With all of the required recounts wrapped up and election results being certified, Vermilion County officials unveiled the number of federal ballots that were inadvertently given to voters on March 15.
