According to police spokesperson Tyler Gamble, officials rushed to the Bunny Friend park located in the 9th ward of the city on Sunday night as the shooting erupted.

Joseph Jordan was inside a house across the street from the park with a friend when they heard gunshots. It is believed all 16 victims are in stable condition. The largest one occurred in 2013 when 19 people were injured in a shooting at a Mother’s Day second-line parade in the 7th ward. Eyewitnesses say at least two men were armed during the public event, whichUSA Today reports was a music video taping with almost 500 attendees.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu, speaking at a news conference aired on WWL-TV, called on people who were in the park to come forward with information.

Officers were dispatched to the park to shut the gathering down, Harrison said. Flot said it’s possible that the shooting could be gang-related, according to The Washington Post.

More than a dozen people have been injured in a shootout that took place during a block party and music video shoot at a New Orleans playground. They said New Orleans in 2014 had its lowest murder rate in over a decade, with 39.6 victims per 100,000 people.

The police is accepting that the witnesses will cooperate with them to identify the culprits so that justice can be brought to the people who are suffering because of this incident.

“You got to stop it, it’s just insane to put the lives of this many innocent people at risk”, Landrieu said Sunday.

Gamble says investigators don’t know how serious the wounds are, or what started the shooting.
