Police gather evidence after a shooting at a playground on November 22, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana. According to witnesses, at least two gunmen fired into the crowd.

Police had not yet named a suspect or suspects, and officials appealed to the public for their help in finding those responsible for the carnage.

“They were about a block away when they heard gunshots”, police said.

Both sides in the conflict took off running just after the shooting, said police.

Ole Miss Police are investigating an incident where a fan appeared to be punched by campus police at a football game against LSU. Local television station WWL TV reported that around 10 wounded people have been taken to the University Medical Centre hospital by ambulance, while others had to be taken by private vehicles. Later someone called Jordan’s friend and told her that her niece had been shot. One 14-year-old girl was shot three times in the leg. Another 14-year-old girl was hit once in the knee and five times in the backside.

“We know, by speaking with a few of the victims, that there were two groups of people shooting at each other”, Gamble said.

“I’m so mad”, said the witness to the shooting. She said she later counted seven bullet holes in her truck.

The park was lit up by big stadium lights as authorities continued to work the crime scene.
