Fourteen people were rescued, but eighteen, including children, were found dead in the sea, the Turkish coast guard informed, Daily Hurriyet reports.
At least 18 have drowned after a boat headed for Greece sank off the Turkish coast.
They were taken to hospital in serious condition, suffering from hypothermia, the agency said.
It said the boat was transporting Iraqi, Pakistani and Syrian refugees to the nearby Greek island of Kalymnos.
It had set off from the Aegean resort of Bodrum in Turkey’s southwest.
A record 500,000 refugees, often from Syria and Iraq, have travelled through Turkey and then risked their lives at sea to reach Greek islands this year.
According to the latest figures released by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), almost one million refugees have reached Europe’s shores so far this year, while more than 3,300 people have either died or gone missing in their perilous journey to the continent.

Leaders also urged European Union ambassadors to arrange for the rapid delivery of a promised three billion euros ($3.25 billion) in aid for refugees in Turkey in return for its help in stemming the flow.
