Chipotle is completing its business with food safety attorney Bill Marler, who confirmed that he has settled with the restaurant chain on behalf of almost 100 clients.
Marler, who declined to identify his client’s name, said Chipotle was “very accommodating” with the woman’s request.
The case was one of 96 that Chipotle recently settled involving food contamination.
Chipotle has settled legal cases with almost 100 customers who got sick after eating there. As a part of her settlement, the victim is requesting free burritos, because no matter how sick you get, nothing tastes better than a side of guac with your carnitas.
Three states – E. coli O26, began December 2015, declared over February 1, five sickened people, source unknown, states involved are Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
Meanwhile the attorney, who has long litigated foodborne illness cases, told the Globe, “I’ve been doing this a long time, and I’ve never had a client ask for such a thing”.
“More than just a few of them were pretty big fans of Chipotle”, Marler said.

Since March, the Mexican Grill has settled nearly 100 legal cases with customers who got sick after eating tainted food (Chipotle faced bouts of E. coli, norovirus, and salmonella). “In fact, some (clients) had gone back to the restaurant, and they would call me and say, ‘Do you think it’s bad that I went back and got a burrito?'” Another norovirus outbreak in Boston past year sickened more than 200 people and salmonella-tained tomatoes at 22 Chipotle restaurants in Minnesota were responsible for sickening 64 people. Same-store sales have declined for the last three straight quarters, falling 23.6% in the most recent quarter. It has also been giving out tons of free food offers to encourage customers to return to its restaurants.
