A second incident at a Maryland airport was reported in Baltimore after a man was stopped for allegedly bringing a loaded semi-automatic gun onto his flight at Baltimore Washington International-Thurgood Marshal.
The TSA contacted MdTA Police, who responded to the checkpoint, confiscated the gun and arrested Krongard on weapons charges.
Police say a New York City man has been arrested in connection with a bias attack in lower Manhattan against the first gay couple to be married at West Point. The gun was seen in the man’s carry-on bag by an officer staffing a checkpoint X-ray machine.
According to the Sun, Krongard was the former chairman and CEO of Alex. (Photo courtesy of TSA.).
A Virginia man was also arrested on Thursday by Washington County Sheriff’s deputies after TSA officers found him going into the HGR airport checkpoint with a 9 mm handgun loaded with 10 rounds, officials said.
It was also detected in the Winchester man’s carry-on bag. The man was ticketed to fly to Orlando Sanford global Airport in Florida.
Hatchets, knives, grenades and guns are not permitted in carry-on bags, TSA officials said. Travelers who bring firearms to the checkpoint are subject to possible criminal charges from law enforcement and civil penalties from TSA of up to $11,000.
The investigation shows that the incidents were unrelated.

Grenades and even replica grenades are not permitted in carry-on or checked bags as they might cause an evacuation until they are determined to be inert, Koshetz said.
