2 arrested over with attack on luxury hotel in Mali

Malian special forces have arrested two men over last week’s attack on a luxury hotel in the capital that killed 19 people, according to a statement distributed this morning.

“Questioning of these suspects will shed more light on the motivations of the perpetrators of the sordid terrorist attack perpetrated” at the Radisson Blu hotel on November 20, said the statement sent by army Maj.

During a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Mr. Obama noted that Malaysia is part of the U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.

The attack was asserted by the Al-Murabitoun bunch, an Al-Qaeda offshoot drove by famous one-peered toward Algerian activist Mokhtar Belmokhtar. The two attackers were killed.

“These were innocent people who had everything to live for and will be remembered for the joy and love they brought to world”, Obama said. The attack has-been claimed by the Al-Mourabitoun extremist group, which stated it had worked in concert with al-Qaida within the Islamic Maghreb. Security analysts say they could be collaborating. “They fired on people indiscriminately”, he said.

Christophe Monbelli- deputy police commissioner for MINUSMA, Valloir, said on Thursday a team from the FBI had arrived to assist the Malian-directed investigation. It was not clear if the additional troops would expand the scope of the mission or help fill the current gap.
