2 asphyxiated kids among 4 dead in Detroit area

At the scene, police found the bodies of a 4 and 6-year-old dead in their bed, and two teenagers, aged 17 and 19-year-old, inside the home.

A father in Dearborn Heights called police Wednesday morning to report he had murdered members of his family, police said. When police arrived, he was waiting on the front porch, According to WXYZ in Detroit.

A 17-year-old and 19-year-old were shot execution style in the basement of the home.

Krause says the woman is in critical condition.

The man fatally shot the oldest children while the youngest children were found to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The man used a tailpipe hose redirected into the vehicle to asphyxiate the girls, according to the Detroit Free Press. They were taken to hospital, but didn’t survive. Police say the man suffocated the young children with auto exhaust fumes.

Current wife Faith Green has filed for divorce from Gregory Green twice – once in 2013 and again in August, the AP reported. Police say the man was the father of some of the children and a stepfather to others.

Inside the home, police found a horrific scene. One neighbor said Gregory Green was nice to her, but she suspected that he wasn’t nice to his wife.

Green, 49, is in custody. He spent 16 years in prison.

Multiple investigators could be seen removing several items from the home Wednesday.

Autopsies on all four victims will be conducted by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office. “This is a very extremely sad situation”. I’ve seen him out here cutting the lawn. I woke up and saw police cars and flashing lights everywhere.

“It was her senior year”, a friend said.

“He kept her confined”, Michelle Carson said. Just all playing. They had a little dog.

“The father? You’d never knew he was there until you saw his little auto”, Radtke said. How could he do something like this? “How could he do something like this, to kill four kids who were just beginning their lives?”

Neighbors described the family as quiet and hardworking. “She’s not going to experience college, being an adult, having a family, all because somebody was so sick”. The father himself in to police. “The guy seemed really good, too”, Strickland said. Police said he surrendered without incident. It had to be premeditated or something.

It all happened at a home on Hipp Street near Annapolis Street.

“I went outside and someone told me, ‘It’s your neighbor”.

“Nothing we can do about it, just keep them in our prayers and do the best for the mother”, a parent at the school said. “I figured they were a normal family”. They had two or three parties this summer where they had get-togethers.
