Two brothers have been charged in connection with the shooting death of Nykea Aldridge, a cousin of National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade, in a case that has helped to shine a spotlight on the spate of gun violence in Chicago.

Darwin Sorells, 26, and Derren Sorells, 22, were charged with one count of first degree murder and one count of attempted first degree murder in the death of Nykea Aldridge, the Chicago Police Department announced on Twitter.
Nykea Aldridge, 32, the mother of four, was pushing a baby stroller Friday afternoon in Chicago’s South Side when she was shot.
In a briefing on Sunday, police did not say why the driver was targeted except to note that the man was from outside the area and appeared to have an exchange of words with the suspects. He was paroled out in February for auto theft, Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told reporters Sunday.
Authorities are investigating whether the encounter between the men was a robbery, possibly involving a driver from a ridesharing company, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Saturday.
Johnson suggested that if more witnesses shared information with police the way people did after this shooting, Chicago Police may not have such a notoriously low homicide clearance rate.
Hopefully Wade decision to play for the Chicago Bulls after signing a 2-year contract this summer will allow him and his family to support Aldrige’s family and infant child.

For Nykea Aldridge’s mother, this is the second child she has lost to gun violence. “He has no problem teasing us with promises of jobs and wealth on one hand while exploiting the community in the other, thinking it will deliver him our vote”.
“My brother is gay and growing up I know firsthand when those sermons come across the pulpit that rebukes him, he nearly feel like the person don’t love him that made him”, Sir said, adding that “Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world”.
Wade’s nephew Darin Johnson was one of six people shot by two gunmen in a South Side convenience store in 2012.
“Clearly, they don’t think we’re serious”, he said.

Aldridge is among the many innocent people who have been hit by stray gunfire, including a growing number of young children.
“And I just thank God once again for allowing her to be in my life”.
Wade’s mother, Pastor Jolinda Wade, echoed her family’s pain while speaking to reporters Friday at the hospital.
Wade is now not in town but recently joined an ESPN round-table talking about the violence plaguing the city of Chicago.

Following Aldridge’s death, nine people were killed and almost 50 were shot across Chicago over the weekend, ABC Chicago station WLS-TV reported.
