In Sarasota Fire Rescue reported multiple rescues throughout the area, mainly in Siesta Key, WTSP said. Steven was pronounced dead at the scene and Kate was pronounced dead at the hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

From Naples to Sarasota, the third round of severe weather battered Southwest Florida once again. Conditions were expected to improve during the day on Sunday. On Sunday morning, a survey crew was assessing the damage in Duette, where the tornado killed two people and injured several others, Fleming said.

Severe damage was reported to homes in Siesta County.

Bristow said the three adults and four children were in the mobile home on Albritton Road when the tornado hit.

Their son, Steven M. Wilson, was able to crawl from the debris, gather his four children, ages 6 through 10, and get to a safe location. The damage is estimated at more than $3 million.

Power outage was experienced by as many as 17,000 customers, Florida Power and Light said. The second tornado left in its wake a trail of destruction 350 yards wide, according to NWS.

In Tampa Bay, 1 to 2 inches of rain fell in parts of Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

Both meteorologists say we can expect to see more fierce storms rolling in with regularity until the El Nino-driven Jet Stream moves farther north in March or April.
