“I’m very concerned”, she told STAT.

Researchers have released maps showing which USA counties have been home to the two species of mosquitoes that carry the Zika virus.

These six cases involve women in the 50 USA states and the District of Columbia.

But the study also found troubling cases of severe birth defects in babies born to women who never realized they had contracted Zika. Colombia has reported several suspected cases of microcephaly.

Nancy Trinidad, who is 32 weeks pregnant, listens to the explanation of a doctor about how to prevent Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya viruses at a public hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico, February 3, 2016. However the CDC did not say whether it was from miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion. More than 1,400 cases of microcephaly in babies have been confirmed in Brazil.

Health authorities in Hawaii reported in January that a woman there who had lived in Brazil had given birth to a baby with microcephaly. The woman, believed to be from Honduras, was visiting relatives when she went into labor.

All of the USA cases are linked to travel to areas where Zika has been circulating, and there have not yet been any cases of Zika infection spread within the United States.

The CDC established the registry to monitor pregnancies for a broad range of poor outcomes linked to Zika.

That case was sexually transmitted to another individual by someone who traveled outside of the United States.

Congress is still working to provide funding to fight the Zika virus after months of pressure from Democrats.

According to the Associated Press, if local infections occur, the affected state can reach out to expert teams from the CDC that will travel to the area.

During the presentation, Philip said that county health departments have asked for $18 million to fund local Zika prevention efforts, but that the state now only has $4 million to distribute.

At least 234 pregnant women in the US and the District of Columbia are infected with the Zika virus, and another 198 pregnant women in the USA territories have tested positive for Zika, according to the CDC.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the three babies, whose mothers were infected with Zika, had brain problems like microcephaly, excess fluid in the brain, abnormal eye development and more.
