2 soldiers, 2 militants killed as army foils infiltration bid in Kupwara

Two terrorists and two army jawans were killed during an encounter in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir that started in the intervening night of July 29-30.

There was exchange of fire between the troops and militants for almost an hour but no casualties have been reported so far, he added.

“As the group was challenged they opened indiscriminate firing triggering a gun fight”.

The Army on Saturday foiled yet another infiltration bid at the Line of Control in Naugam sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, killing two terrorists but two soldiers were also martyred in the operation.

The identity of the slain soldiers and militants could not be established immediately.

According to reports, two terrorists were also killed during the gunfight. One soldier injured. Two AK rifles, One UBGL recovered.

This is the second major infiltration bid foiled by the Army in Naugam sector this week.

Earlier on July 26, four Pakistani militants were killed and another militant Bahadur Ali, alias Saifullah, of Lahore was arrested alive.
