2 toddlers found tied, chained in Texas backyard
The little girl had a broken arm, and was taken to the hospital. The officers removed eight children in total from the home, who were all left unsupervised.

On Friday, Porucha Phillips, the 34-year-old mother of the six children inside the home, was arrested and charged with injury to a child by omission with serious bodily injury and injury to a child with bodily injury.
Six other children were found alone inside the residence at around 12 a.m.
Neighbors and authorities said they were horrified by the conditions the children were found in. According to KSAT, an anonymous woman called 911 shortly before midnight to report a child crying for hours. “It makes you wonder what somebody’s thinking”.
Keith told the News-Express: “We will dedicate every ounce of energy to making sure that those responsible are held accountable and that these children are never harmed again”.
The cries rang out in the dead of night: Someone reported hearing a child crying for “a long period of time” and that the sounds emanated from a San Antonio back yard, authorities said.
Police in the USA state in Texas have rescued eight children from “horrific abuse” including a two-year-old who was chained to the ground in a garden. Officials were concerned that all the children may be malnourished, said Patrick Crimmins, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
“It’s sickening. To call this horrific would be an understatement”, he was quoted by the Associated Press as saying. The youngest was 10 months old, the oldest was 13 years old.
“When we heard of it, it was bad”, Christina Rivera, who lives nearby, told KSAT.
“The little boy was chained to the ground”, said James Keith, a spokesperson for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. “She just said, ‘I don’t know they ended up like that'”.
Authorities are still looking for the parents of the injured toddlers.
