A powerful 6.2 magnitude quake has struck some 190 miles south of the Indonesian island of Lombok, according to preliminary data from the US Geological Survey.
The undersea quake, at a depth of 29km, hit at a distance of 234km from the popular holiday island of Lombok, it added.
The epicentre of the quake was 38.8km (24 miles) deep, about 126km (80 miles) west-northwest of Kota Ternate, the US Geological Survey said.
Other details about the natural disaster were not immediately available, and there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
