Dylan McCaffrey is one of the top quarterback recruits in the country and boosts Michigan’s already impressive recruiting class.

McCaffrey, who attends Valor Christian High School in Highland Ranch, Colo., is one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the high school class of 2017.

With Peters and McCaffrey in back-to-back classes, the quarterback position looks to be in good hands for the foreseeable future. As such, he won’t arrive in time to compete to be Jake Rudock’s replacement in 2016, but he’ll certainly arrive with plenty of hype. He is the nation’s No. 45 overall recruit, No. 2 pro-style quarterback and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Colorado, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The son of former Denver Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey becomes the fifth player in the Wolverines’ 2017 class, joining running back Kurt Taylor, tight end Carter Dunaway, offensive tackle Ja’Raymond Hall and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste.

Jim Harbaugh’s 2016 recruiting class just got better. The Wolverines offered him last February, and he visited Michigan’s campus twice previous year.

Older brother Max McCaffrey played wide receiver for Duke and is projected as a late-round National Football League draft pick.
