Following complaints regarding iPhone 7 availability through Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program, Apple has started informing customers that it’s making more reservations times available to pick-up the device at Apple Stores this Friday. Although the company said that it would not be providing first-weekend sales results as it did in the past, there are indications that the latest iPhone received quite a warm welcome from consumers.
USA mobile service providers have been reporting strong orders as well, with T-Mobile saying it had received record pre-orders for the new iPhones in the four days since September 9, while its rival Sprint said its pre-orders in the three days were 375 percent higher than in the same period previous year.
On Tuesday, September 13, T-Mobile US (NASDAQ:TMUS) released its sales information for this weekend’s iPhone 7 and “iPhone 7 Plus” pre-orders.
The reviews are in: Apple gave tech reporters a few days time to test the new iPhone 7 before publishing their take on the new device. Sprint said preorders for the new iPhones rose more than 375% in the first three days from a year ago.
This year, Apple killed the headphone jack.
Considering the iPhone’s tenth major iteration is approaching, it’ll be interesting to see if Apple makes such a bold design choice to celebrate the anniversary – or possibly release a virtual home button as part of a more conventional “S” edition of the iPhone 7.

That’s good news for Upgrade Program participants, but it may be bad news for anyone hoping to walk into an Apple Store and buy an iPhone 7 come Friday.
