Usain Bolt made his grand Olympic entry with an easy victory in his 100-meter heat on Saturday.

Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake won their heats to advance to the 100m semi-finals, while Nickel Ashmeade copped the second automatic qualification spot in his heat. “Coach told me to go out there, control the race from the beginning, stay tall to the end and just get ready for the next day”.
Justin Gatlin clocked 10.01 seconds, the fastest time of the first round, to win his heat by.19 seconds.
Ashmeade, running out of Lane three in Heat three finished behind the surprise victor from China, Xie Chenye, who ran to a personal best of 10.08s. It was the first Olympic race for Bromell, 21.
