The Richland County Sheriff’s Office confirms they arrested Matthew Lee Gross, 28.
According to the Richland County Sheriff, two dozen attendances to an OH music festival were hospitalized after they experienced episodes of a drug overdose.
THC is the psychoactive compound in marijuana. He said no one lost consciousness.
All of those who were sickened were treated with an overdose antidote naloxone at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, and all are expected to be fine, WXYZ/WTTE reported.
Regional drug task force commander Lt. Joe Petrycki disagreed with characterizing people’s reactions as overdoses.
The packets, which were labeled “Prescribed Medibles” and “Nerd Bites”, contained about 20 sweets, and “each had a very, very high dose of THC”, Richland County Sheriff’s Major Joe Masi told the Mansfield News Journal. Cleveland rapper, “Machine Gun Kelly” was the festival’s headliner.
After officials responded to calls of the 24 people acting unusual, the group was taken to a local hospital and treated with Narcan, WOIO said. They only felt exhausted, among other unusual symptoms. A lawyer for Gross couldn’t immediately be identified. Police also noted that Gross is licensed to possess and/or grow marijuana in the state of MI.
Authorities said that they searched every vehicle before it entered the festival, but the candy went undetected.

According to the police report of the incident, “A green protective case was found and it contained a glass device for the use of smoking marijuana and or hash oil” in his backpack.
