25 people taken to hospital during Kenny Chesney’s concert in Pittsburgh
Chesney announced Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, hell be returning to Pittsburgh for the second time since a 2013 concert that drew national attention for the disorderly behavior of fans. Costa praised the collaboration that had occurred “between city police, public works, emergency medical responders, sheriff’s deputies and other county personnel”.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that the concert’s aftermath included a “reeking, hulking mass of garbage left over”, and that people “covered their noses with their shirts to escape the stench” due to portable toilets that overflowed. Despite the arrests made, they were few in number compared to Chesney’s concert in 2013.
In addition to the hospitalizations, three people were charged with drug related offenses.
57 ambulances and medical teams were called to the venue by 9 p.m. last night, and 25 people were taken to local hospitals for alcohol-related injuries or intoxication.

There were also a “handful of arrests on charges including trespassing, ticket robbery, simple assault and public intoxication”, according to the Associated Press. One police officer reportedly injured his hand while “breaking up a fight between concertgoers”. By that time, Rolling Stone reported that most of the trash had been removed from PNC Park.
