Heavy clashes between Indian troops and unarmed Kashmiri people were also reported on Saturday in different areas of the Valley.

It comes days after India lashed out at Pakistan, accusing its neighbour of fanning violent protests in Indian-administered Kashmir that have claimed more than 50 lives this month.

Expressing concern at escalating violence in India-held Kashmir, the United States has urged all sides to make efforts to find a peaceful solution to the issue.
