28 celebrities who love and endorse Hillary Clinton

Turning to Republican nominee Donald Trump, Clinton invoked President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s famous quote: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”.

Clinton criticized Trump throughout her almost hour-long speech, and defined her policy agenda largely against that of her Republican opponent as she assailed his “bigotry and bombast”.

The politician is then expected to deliver her mission as president: “So I want to tell you tonight how we’re going to empower all Americans to live better lives”. But all the speeches and videos and personal testimonials and uplifting music couldn’t fully disguise the reality that Clinton has struggled to break away from Trump, whose flaws have led a majority of the country to conclude that he is not qualified to be president.

It was only after she had underscored the danger she sees in Trump that she really turned to explaining herself.

Hillary Clinton said during her Democratic convention speech that voters shouldn’t trust Donald Trump because of his go-it-alone mentality.

Trump was quick to respond to Clinton’s provocations.

But Mrs Clinton sought to reach beyond the Democratic base, particularly to moderate Republicans unnerved by Mr Trump. And here’s something we don’t say often enough: College is crucial, but a four-year degree should not be the only path to a good job.

According to excerpts of the speech released by the Clinton campaign, Hillary Clinton will say that the United States is at “a moment of reckoning”. “And the way to do that is to roll out a bunch of well-known Republicans saying, ‘Hey I’m for Hillary, ‘” said former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell. “When we do, America will be greater than ever”. Jeanne Shaheen, of New Hampshire, recounted how Clinton, while Secretary of State, helped a home state employer resolve a foreign trade issue that put jobs at risk.

Ms Clinton was quick to thank Bernie Sanders, the man who opposed her in the race to become Democratic nominee. “After all, when there are no ceilings, the sky’s the limit”.

Standing before a packed Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Clinton addressed multiple audiences. Many of his allies wore hats and shirts adorned with a single word: “Bernie”. Especially in places that for too long have been left out and left behind.

Following reports Russian Federation hacked Democratic Party emails, Trump said he’d like to see Moscow find the thousands of emails Clinton deleted from the account she used as secretary of state. “From the industrial Midwest to the Mississippi Delta to the Rio Grande Valley”.

“Your cause is our cause”, she told her former rival’s his ardent supporters – and they gave her plenty of applause.

Sanders backers made their presence known throughout the evening.

At one point, as a group of veterans endorsed Clinton from the podium, some California delegates chanted “no more wars!” and “peace, not war!” “He wants us to fear the future and fear each other”.

But here, Clinton declared her support for what is, quite genuinely, the most progressive platform the Democratic Party has crafted in at least half-a-century (and obviously, the more economically progressive platforms of yesteryear had relatively little to offer on the rights of women, racial minorities and LGBTQ folks). She’s worked to make it easier for foster kids to be adopted; for our 9/11 first responders to get the health care they deserve; for women around the world to be safe, to be treated with dignity, and to have more opportunities. “America is already strong”, Obama added. “We have to decide whether we’re going to work together so we can all rise together”.

Afterward, balloons and confetti and fell on Clinton as she hugged running mate Tim Kaine and members of her family, including ex-President Clinton. He spoke movingly of his son and also insulted Trump, suggesting that he had never read the Constitution. His slain son may not have been allowed in the country under Trump policies, Khan said.

Trump’s “cynicism and undoubtedly his lack of empathy and compassion can be summed up in that phrase he is most proud of making famous: ‘You’re fired, ‘” Biden said.
