3.7 quake jolts Delhi, Haryana; no casualties

An natural disaster of magnitude 5.5 on the Richter Scale hit the Indo-Myanmar border region at 7:11 am on Tuesday morning, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Tremors were felt in state capital Guwahati as well.

Earlier on Monday, medium sized natural disaster of 3.5 magnitude hit Haryana, having epicentre in Mahendragarh.

The epicentre was around 120 km from Delhi and NCR; hence light tremors were felt in the region.

Earlier in the day, a medium intensity quake measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale hit Kohima, the capital of Nagaland at 10:58 AM.

Police and fire officials said there were no reports of any major damage so far, Xinhua news agency reported.

Bangladesh, which sits on the zone of natural disaster, is prone to tremors and experts have predicted a major quake in the near future.
