Three Fort Wayne men have been identified as the victims in the Tuesday morning triple homicide at the Sports & Spirits bar on East Wayne Street, the Allen County coroner’s office said today.

According to Fort Wayne police, the shooting happened around 2:30 a.m.at Sports and Spirits, 1723 E. Wayne St. Two other people also were shot at the bar and had been taken to a local hospital, where they were being treated for gunshot wounds.
Officers and emergency medical crews arrived to find three people hurt inside the bar; they were pronounced dead.
Investigators say witnesses heard gunshots inside the bar and saw someone running from the scene. “There was no way of verifying suspect information”.
The Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission revoked Sports and Spirits’ liquor license a year ago, citing shootings, gun and drug seizures, and other trouble at the bar. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
Hours after the last call, owner Burke Baughman voluntarily relinquished the establishment’s liquor license back to the state and said they do not plan to reopen.
