Airport spokesman Brian Kulpin says the crash did not affect commercial operations.

The single-engine aircraft came down as it was trying to take off last night.
A plane crashed in a parking lot of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport late Sunday, killing all three people on board. No one was injured in the parking lot. The parking garage and rental vehicle areas are open, but cars can not enter the surface lot.
Kulpin says it’s still unclear what caused the Piper Cherokee to crash.
The identities of the victims were not available.
Despite the crash, officials maintained that the airport was operating as usual, with no injuries on ground.
There are from 75 to 100 cars in the “debris area” of the parking lot, many of which will likely have to remain there for the foreseeable future.

The paper said an investigator from the National Transportation Safety Board is scheduled to arrive Monday.
