3 face charges after Glenwood melee involving principal
The Mills County Attorney’s Office says 42-year-old Hurl Beechum, 18-year-old Denver Cook and 21-year-old Colton McDaniel face different charges following Sunday night’s shooting in Glenwood. Beechum is the stepson of Richard Hutchinson, principal at Glenwood Community High School.

Glenwood’s superintendent confirmed the shooting involved their high school principal and his family. One of them was shot, but McSorley didn’t say whether that person was Hutchinson or say what injuries Hutchinson has suffered. Beechum was taken to the hospital for treatment of multiple cuts after Cook and McDaniel allegedly punched and kicked him.

Mills County authorities said Whitehouse made statements on Facebook on Sunday, around 9 p.m., saying that he was seeking justice in connection with the shooting that occurred. Officers say they stopped Whitehouse’s vehicle a few blocks from Hutchinson’s Glenwood home and found the weapons. Court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to comment on Whitehouse’s behalf.
