– Authorities are searching Saturday for three risky prisoners who escaped the Orange County jail lockup.
A search was underway for three men who somehow managed to escape the Orange County Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, authorities said Saturday.
Hallock said authorities expect to have more information during another news conference scheduled for 4 p.m. today.
By 9 p.m., authorities at the jail discovered the inmates were unaccounted for and immediately began a search of the Central Jail Complex and adjacent Santa Ana Civic Center were conducted with no results.
The inmates possibly escaped sometime between 5 a.m. on Friday, which was when they were last seen at the Orange County Central Men’s Jail, and late Friday night.
All three men were being held pending trial for violent crimes.
Hallock says the three are very risky and anyone seeing them should call 911. It was unclear how the inmates escaped from the facility. I am confident that this collaborative effort will result in returning these inmates to where they belong- behind bars. He was being held without bail.
Tieu was being held on $1,000,000 bail.

Sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock says Saturday that the inmates had an elaborate plan that may also have involved creating a jail disturbance. We are utilizing every resource available to ensure these inmates are brought back into custody as quickly as possible.
