CBS Crimesider reports that Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, were caught in Pueblo, Colorado, after being on the run for nearly two weeks. Pueblo Police Department officers were conducting an investigation on an unrelated matter in a local hotel when they came into contact with suspect Brittney Humphrey and the 1 1/2 year old child who had been traveling with them.

Humphrey was found inside a auto at the motel, while Robertson was found about two blocks away. The baby girl, who is Robertson’s, was unharmed and was in state custody. They were also wanted for questioning in connection with Harvill’s death.

Detectives learned Wednesday afternoon that the three missing children had been located in a motel on the outskirts of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Alexander said the sheriff’s department will be coordinating their efforts with the Department of Children and Family Services to arrange for the safe return of Harvill’s children – Joslynn Watkins, 2, Brayden Watkins, 3, and Rylee Watkins, 5 – to California. Lt. Joe Mendoza said investigators were not aware of any ongoing conflicts between the half-sisters.

He says they drove through Arizona and into New Mexico and are last known to have been in the Gallup area. She was found on August 14 in an isolated location in the Los Angeles area at a rest stop on Gorman Post Road. Investigators believe Robertson and Humphrey are traveling in Harvill’s green 1999 Ford Expedition, which may have the California license plate 7BEK024, though authorities believe the plate may have since been replaced.

The children’s godmother, Michelle Elf, 40, told NBC4 on Wednesday, after the news about the children being found safe, that she was a mix of emotions.

The godfather of her children confirmed this photo – from a flier posted by Justice For Children Without Voices – shows Kimberly Harvill.

The process of having them extradited to California was underway, Mendoza said.

The pair left the children about 700 miles away from the remote town of Lebec, where their mother’s bullet-riddled body was discovered 10 days earlier, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
