3 killed, 4 wounded in shooting in western New York

Police say a gunman shot into a crowd after a basketball game in western New York, killing three people and wounding four others. Ciminelli said multiple shots were fired, and that the scene had been contained as of 1 a.m.

It happened late Wednesday night near the headquarters of the Boys and Girls Club in Rochester. Police said it does not appear the game was part of the violence.

Large, emotional crowds gathered at the both at the scene and at Strong Memorial Hospital. A police command post has been set up near the scene at Wilson High School and the investigation is considered a “top priority” according to RPD.
