He said a massive operation has been launched to track down the attackers, who fled the spot.
According to details, five army personnel were also injured in the clash. “The terrorists whose exact number is not known, managed to escape after the attack”, said the police official. Locals said firing continued for more than 20 minutes.
The Army and the police are also searching the mountainous areas in Kashmir to trace the militant’s attack attackers.

Kashmir has been under curfew since protests erupted over the death last month of a popular young rebel leader, Burhan Wani, in a gunfight with security forces. On Tuesday, GOC, 19 Division had said that the five infiltrators killed in the Uri sector had come with an aim to target a civil or high-value target. In South Kashmir Pulwama district five policemen were wounded on Tuesday. Since August 15, this is the third militant attack on security forces in the Valley.
