3 tickets in Pennsylvania win $1M in Powerball

The three winners of Wednesday night’s $1.6bn Powerball jackpot have yet to identify themselves, creating a frenzy in three USA towns as people across the country anxiously wait to learn who will be taking home the largest ever lottery payout.

The Chino Hills ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven in the 4000 block of Chino Hills Parkway, and the other two winners were sold in Florida and Tennessee.

Bauer and his wife Sara claimed the prize at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s headquarters in Braintree. A 7-Eleven in Chino Hills, California, will get $1 million.

The identities of the winners were not yet known.

The website is now only displaying the winning numbers for players to check their tickets. None of the four $50,000 winning tickets have been claimed.

“I 100 percent believe he deserves this”, said one of his three daughters Sonia Atwal. Hundreds of people, from news crews to gawkers, crowded the store and spilled into its parking lot.

The winning ticket from Baker City is actually a $100,000 prize as the player added the Power Play multiplier option for an addition $1. The holder of the winning ticket will share the $1.6 billion jackpot with winners in Southern California and Florida.

Crowds descended on the store after word emerged where the winning ticket had been bought, to snap pictures and congratulate the clerk.

In a typical week, lottery ticket sales in the state are about $1.3 million to $1.4 million.

For selling the second-tier Powerball victor, Wawa will receive a $2,500 bonus.

Powerball tickets are sold in 44 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The cycle will start again on Saturday night when the next Powerball drawing will have an estimated jackpot of $40 million, according to the lottery operator’s website. Texas Lottery Executive Director Gary Grief said that Powerball offered the world’s biggest jackpot, and he offered advice for the winners.
