So how’s that headphone jack-less iPhone working out for Apple?
Fourth: Apple’s wired earphones are widely considered to be unimpressive, and, judging from the reports from journalists who got to test the AirPods at the Apple event yesterday, the wireless version sounds just about the same.

The phones go on sale September 16. There are cheaper wireless headphones out there already, but those usually still have a connecting wire or band between them.
Bluetooth headphones are also disproportionately profitable among headphones. To me, the company seems like little more than a copycat laggard these days, selling a smart phone that has a high price relative to the competition’s. Apple never mentions Bluetooth in its official description of the product, although it says on the product page music is transmitted using the AAC codec. They will also work on Apple’s computers as long as it’s been updated to MacOS Sierra. With quick charging, phones can be charged up super fast and “topped off” throughout the day to extend battery life.
According to Apple’s website, each full charge gets you five hours of listening time. While that partly solves the dilemma, some folks will hit a roadblock – they can not listen to wired headphones while charging their iPhone devices. “But I think it certainly benefits Beats the most as the market leader and being able to capitalize on marketing adjacencies at the Apple store and things like that”.
It had become sort of a tradition for Apple to provide sales figures for the first weekend after it opened up pre-orders for a new iPhone.
The new iPhones also don’t represent a big design overhaul over last year’s models (or indeed the year before) – which might also discourage iOS users from upgrading.
