30% of Republicans Would Support Bombing Aladdin’s Homeland of Agrabah
What’s possibly even more remarkable is 54 per cent of Republicans surveyed said they support a ban on Muslims entering the U.S.

Well, that might be because it’s the fictional home of Aladdin from the eponymous Disney movie.
Hidden in a 41-question survey by polling company Public Policy Polling (PPP) was a seemingly innocuous query: “Would you support or oppose bombing Agrabah?”
To be fair, they also asked Democrats if they wanted to bomb the fictional country, with 19 percent saying “yes”, and 36 percent saying “no”. Thirty-six percent said they opposed that measure.
That was against 13% who were opposed to bombing Agrabah, by the way, and 57% who were “not sure”. Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who has recently surged in the polls, said during Tuesday night’s CNN Republican debate that he would make the sand “glow” with a bombing campaign.
While Public Policy Polling has been described as an accurate organization, it’s also been called Democratic-leaning.

“We got the idea to see how far that might extend – if people would reflexively support bombing something that sounded vaguely Middle Eastern”, said Williams.
