A 30-year-old Siamese named Scooter living in Texas was recently named the oldest living cat, according to Guinness World Records.
Apparently he’s visited 45 of the 50 states in America.
Gail has credited Scooter’s social nature in helping to keep him young, adding: “He likes to see new places and he likes people”.
He accepts being bathed without a fuss and even likes to be blow-dried after the cleaning.
He wakes Floyd up every morning at around 6 a.m., and is always waiting by the door when she arrives home from work.
Friends echo Gail’s sentiments, and describe Scooter as an active cat, full of energy and playful.
Scooter’s long life hasn’t been without its challenges though.
Scooter takes over the title from previous record holder, 26-year-old Corduroy (born on 1 August 1989), from Sisters, Oregon after Scooter’s owner Gail submitted his details to Guinness World Records for verification.
In October 2014, Scooter had a leg injury and has been undergoing treatments ever since.
