The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé will celebrate its world premiere on 28 September 2016 as part of the Paris Motor Show. The SUV speeds from 0-60 in an impressive 4.8 seconds and hits top speeds of 130 miles per hour.
The 9G-TRONIC gearbox used in the range-topping GLC Coupe is different from the one used in the rest of the small SUV range.
Adaptable suspension has also been applied and offers users five drive modes to choose from through the Dynamic Select menu: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. The V-6 is mated to a nine-speed automatic, which sends power to the AMG-tuned all-wheel-drive system that favors sending 69 percent of the engine’s power to the rear wheels. More negative camber on the front and rear axle are also said to improve agility and improve handling.
Being an air suspension system the Air Body Control system is able to adjust the spring rate automatically when the SUV is undergoing sudden changes in direction, acceleration, or braking, to reduce roll and pitching while stabilising it.
Mercedes-AMG kept the exterior upgrades to a minimum for this sport utility coupe.
Standard 19-inch alloys and large 360mm four-piston front brakes and 320mm single piston callipers complete the AMG mechanical improvements.
The interior is trimmed in back and red with grained aluminium-finish trim elements, including a multifunction sports steering wheel in black leather with red top-stitching and a flattened bottom section.
Optional extras include a pair of even more supportive “performance seats”, large 21-inch wheels and carbon-fibre trim.
The fastest GLC 43 can also wade rivers up to depths of 300mm and two up to 2460kg.

Mercedes hasn’t yet revealed pricing for the AMG GLC 43, but the Coupe version of the GLC carries a premium of around £3k over the regular GLC, so it seems reasonable to assume that the Mercedes-AMG 43 Coupe will cost from around £51,000 when it goes on sale next month in the UK.
