Pokémon Go is exclusive to mobile devices-unless rumors of Nintendo’s upcoming NX console supporting its mobile games pans out-but that helped carry the 3DS to profitable sales during the month of July. This was “continued momentum” following the 2DS price drop in May, and “widespread positive public reception” for Pokemon Go, which launched in July. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire combined sold over 80% more copies than in July of last year, despite being nearly two years old. The NDP Group, responsible for reporting all data related to sales of gaming hardware and software nationally and internationally, also reports that Monster Hunter Generations was the best-selling game last month. 2013’s X and Y saw a sales increase of nearly 200% year-over-year. It’s worth noting that Nintendo’s sales figures include all models of the 3DS: the original, the 2DS, and the New 3DS.
