3rd man charged in murder of St. Paul mother Sarah Wierstad

The mother of a St. Paul woman who was murdered told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS she will follow every court proceeding in coming days because she wants to look her daughter’s killer “in the eyes”. Bell and McIntosh entered the home and Harper acted as the lookout, the criminal complaint stated. In an interview with police, he acknowledged he was inside Wierstad’s house with Bell and another man who is listed in the complaint as AB. Several shots were fired and Wierstad was fatally hit by one of the bullets.

Wierstad stumbled upon the burglary and was told to get on the ground by McIntosh. Officers also found a kitchen window screen had been cut. He says Bell called him to the front of the home to hand stolen items to him.

Bell was arrested Tuesday after police found his fingerprints inside the Wierstad home and he was identified on video at a Minneapolis Holiday gas station using Wierstad’s credit card. Harper told investigators that McIntosh told the woman to stay down until they left, but she ran after them asking for her phone, saying her daughter was on the way.

“She was on her knees”, and McIntosh and Bell ” were talking back and forth”, the complaint against Harper said. He says Wierstad came through the back door and turned the lights on. McIntosh said he didn’t care, the complaint stated.

Harper said he was in the vehicle when he saw McIntosh go back and heard four to five shots. AB ran and got into the vehicle.

Harper told those questioning him about the murder that he felt bad, that all he wanted was a few money.

Wierstad was struck twice – once in the foot, and another that traveled through her arm and chest, striking her heart then exiting the other side.

McIntosh has five prior felony convictions, including three motor vehicle thefts, an attempted burglary involving a firearm and burglary in the second degree.
