Vermilion County sheriff’s Capt. Michael Hartshorn said Kevin Edwards was taken into custody Saturday by a Vermilion County sheriff’s deputy.

No word yet on when Edwards will be returned to Chicago to face charges in court.

Corey Morgan and Dwright Boone-Doty are already in custody for the execution of 9-year-old Tyshawn last fall.

Police have said Tyshawn was killed in retaliation for the October 13 murder of Corey Morgan’s brother Tracey Morgan, 25, after he left a police-sponsored meeting of parolees whose goal was to resolve gang conflicts in the area. According to the Tribune, his sister told him to surrender but also doubts that her brother had anything to do with the shooting because “he’s got little brothers, too”. “You know what I’m saying?” Police said the boy was lured from a playground into an alley with the promise of a juice box, and shot to death. Walker said during a brief interview with the Tribune previous year.

So far the intentions of the crime remain unclear, although rumors and declarations of police officers lead to the child’s parent Pierre Strokes, who is believed to be a member of a rival gang in the city. Authorities found the body after an emergency call was issued by a nearby neighbor and witness of the event.
