4.4 quake rattles Devore area near San Bernardino
An quake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.9 struck offshore Northern California, 61 miles northwest of Eureka, at 5:35 p.m. local time.

The quake followed another that measured 4.4 and struck several hours earlier near San Bernardino, California.
The View Royal fire department also offered guidance in a Twitter post: “That little shake u felt is a gentle reminder 2 b prepared for all emergencies”.
KWTV reports about 4,400 customers lost power immediately following the quake.
SkyTrain’s Expo and Millennium lines were shut down for approximately an hour as a safety precaution to ensure the elevated guideways were not damaged by the tremors. Thousands of people reported feeling the quake. An aftershock occurred five minutes later – this one measuring magnitude 3.8.
Recently Oklahoma has seen a huge uptick in the number of earthquakes there over the last hundred years.
The USGS website has recorded more than 10,000 reports of the quake being felt.
The epicenter was on Victoria Island, in the Pacific Ocean west of mainland British Columbia and the US state of Washington. Numerous aftershocks were a magnitude-3.8 or as small as a 0.7.

The quake was lightly felt in southwestern BC, as far away as the Fraser Valley.
